Sam had been hired to design and help produce Playground Drama Camp. We did Mulan her first summer. Sam did such an amazing job that I asked if she would like to be on staff the following year. She replied, “I’m happy to come back, just keep me away from those kids!”
Well, over the years, “those kids” became like Sam’s kids, and with her stunning designs, down-to-earth wisdom, and enormous heart, she helped change the lives of her kids for better and best. She grew to love them as much as they loved her. When the staff introduced themselves each year, applause would thunder for her.
